How the mock exam works
- 85 questions in 90 minutes, as on the real exam. 75 are scored at the outline's weights: 13 data collection and graphing, 8 behavior assessment, 19 behavior acquisition, 14 behavior reduction, 10 documentation and reporting, 11 ethics.
- 10 more questions are unscored, like the real exam's pilot questions. You can't tell which they are until the end.
- Move back and forth freely, flag questions to come back to, and check the review screen before you finish. The timer turns red with five minutes left and ends the exam at zero.
- At the end you see your score on the 75 scored questions, your score in each content area, and every question you missed with the explanation.
- The BACB doesn't publish a passing percentage, so we don't call a score a pass or a fail. Our suggestion: book the real exam when you score consistently well in every content area, not just overall.
Practise under real exam conditions
- The RBT examination is only offered in English. Check-in is in English only; translators are not allowed without an approved accommodation.
- You get a dry-erase board, but no calculator or scratch paper: do the data calculations by hand when you practise, too.
- Unscheduled breaks are allowed but the clock keeps running; you may not leave the building or access phones or notes.
- The 90 minutes include reviewing the Terms and Conditions, the navigation tutorial, the load-time prompt and the exam itself, plus any review.
