Standard 3.06: Responding to BACB notices and required actions

If an RBT is named in a Notice of Alleged Violation or receives a required action from the BACB, they share the document with their supervisor immediately. They then work with the supervisor to respond to any correspondence and meet all BACB requirements.

What it means in practice

The code gives examples of documents this covers: an RBT Supervision Audit, an Educational Memorandum, a Notice of RBT Required Action, a Disciplinary or Appeal Determination, and a Notice of Summary Suspension or Revocation. A Notice of Alleged Violation is a complaint naming you.

Share these immediately, even when you're embarrassed or think the notice is unfair. Your supervisor is responsible for your work and can help you understand what is being asked, gather records and respond accurately.

Respond on time. The RBT Handbook warns that if you don't respond after reasonable contact attempts, or don't comply with a BACB request, the BACB may take summary action such as suspension. That is also why your email address in your BACB account must be current (see 3.07).
